3 Reasons Why Your Google Ads are Not Showing Up

3 Reasons Why Your Google Ads are Not Showing Up

So you just set up your Google Search Ads Campaign, but for some reason your ads are not getting any impressions at all. And you’re wondering, what could be the reasons.

So in this guide, we will be going through with the three possible reasons that are preventing your ads to show up.

Reason #1: You did not set enough campaign budget

For example, this campaign’s Avg. CPC is $2, so if you set your campaign budget to lets say around below $5 a day, then your ads won’t be able to get enough clicks and impressions since your campaign’s budget will be exhausted quickly.

Always consider your budget, especially if your niche is on a very competitive space wherein a CPC is lets say $5 or $10. So setting a very low budget won’t get your ads anywhere.

I don’t suggest you give your campaign like $100-$200/day budget right away, just give it an ample amount and monitor if it will spend for a couple clicks and impressions and then assess if adjusting the budget accordingly is necessary.

Reason #2: Location Targeting

You might have set too tight location targeting wherein no one is searching for your keywords in the target location you just set.

So how do you check the locations your campaign is targeting?

Go to your campaign and then click on the Locations tab on the left

And your target location/s should appear here:

Depending on your campaign, you may be doing radius targeting which can be too narrow and as mentioned above, maybe no one on that particular radius is searching for your keywords and for that you must expand your location targeting.

Reason #3: Below First Page Bid Keywords

Most people are not navigating beyond the first page of search results and this might be one of the reasons why your ads are not showing up.

How do you check if a keyword or bunch of keywords are Below First Page Bid?

Go to an ad group level or campaign level, then in the left side, go to Keywords > Search Keywords

The Status column should be able to tell you if you have Below First Page Bid keyword.

So the question now is, “Should I raise my bid to first page bid?” The answer is, it really depends on you, personally if it’s a $10-$20 cost per click then I definitely suggest against spending on it.

Additionally, if you have multiple keywords on a ad group or campaign you can do this filter as well to show only keywords that has Below First Page Bid. Simply click add filter,

then click Attributes then choose Status Reason and list of status should show up and simply choose Below First Page Bid and click Apply.

If you have Below first page bid it should show up otherwise, it won’t.

Those are the possible reasons why your ads are not showing up. So to quickly recap:

There you have it, so please check one of this when you experience this issue in your campaigns.
