What Are Google’s Local Service Ads?

If you’re new to this, Google Local Service Ads (LSAs) are a type of paid advertising from Google which allows local businesses, such as dentists and other local types of business, to promote their services to customers in their area.

When you search for local businesses, these ads will appear at the top of Google search results when users search for a specific service, such as “dentist near me.” Additionally, to ensure authenticity and that is verified, LSAs also include a “Google Guaranteed” badge, which verifies that the business has been vetted by Google and meets certain qualifications.

How does Local Service ads work?

Google Local Service Ads (LSAs) work by connecting local service providers with customers in their area. When a user searches for a specific service, such as “dentist near me,” LSAs will appear at the top of the search results, above traditional text ads.

To be able to participate and run LSAs, a local business must first sign up and create a profile that includes the following information about their business: services offered, hours of operation, and contact information. In addition, a local business must also pass a background check and meet certain qualifications set by Google.

Once approved, you can now create LSAs and target specific services and geographic areas. And as mentioned these ads will appear in Google search results and also in Google Maps.

When a user clicks on an LSA, they will be directed to the provider’s profile, where they can see more information about the business and read reviews from other customers. They will also be able to contact the provider directly through the profile.

The cost of LSAs is based on a pay-per-lead model, where the provider only pays when a customer contacts them through the ad. This allows providers to control their advertising costs and only pay for leads that are relevant to their business.

In summary, Local Service Ads work by allowing local service providers to create ads that target specific services and geographic areas and by displaying them in Google search results, Google Maps, and on the Local Services by Google website. It also allows customers to find and contact local service providers quickly and easily.

Why Should You Use Local Service Ads?

There are several reasons why you should use Google Local Service Ads (LSAs) as a local service provider, such as a dentist:

  1. Increased visibility: LSAs appear at the top of search results, above traditional text ads, which makes it more likely that customers will see and click on your ad.
  2. Targeted advertising: With LSAs, you can target specific services and geographic areas, which means you’re reaching the customers who are most likely to be interested in your business.
  3. Google Guaranteed badge: LSAs include a “Google Guaranteed” badge, which verifies that your business has been vetted by Google and meets certain qualifications. This can increase customer trust and help your business stand out in search results.
  4. Pay-per-lead model: With LSAs, you only pay when a customer contacts you through the ad, which allows you to control your advertising costs and only pay for leads that are relevant to your business.
  5. Reviews: LSAs allow customers to leave reviews on your profile, which can help increase visibility and build trust with potential customers.
  6. Increased calls and leads: LSAs are designed to increase calls and leads for local service providers. It also allows customers to contact providers directly through the profile, which makes it easy for customers to schedule appointments or ask questions.

Overall, Local Service Ads allow local service providers to increase visibility, target advertising, build trust, and control advertising costs, leading to more calls and leads for the business.
