In case you missed it: Here are the 3 of the latest Google Merchant Center changes
One of the helpful changes is the pause attribute which lets you temporarily halt ads.
Google announced recently a series of changes that are coming to Merchant Center that you should be aware of. Here are those changes:
Pause attribute
- Back in April, Google announced this feature ‘pause’ attribute of which you can temporarily halt or pause ads. This lets you to temporarily pause your ads without using the “out_of_stocck” or “availability” attribute.
So why roll out this change? Most of the time, many retailers are not really looking to halt or pause ads completely because of an out of stock product which will be back in stock soon. And starting next year – 2023, if you incorrectly use the “availability” attribute it will result to your ads’ disapproval.
Availability dates for backorder and preorder products.
- According to Google, all items that you put an attribute of “backorder” or “preorder” will require you to put an “availability_date” when the item you’re selling is back in stock. The date you can set may be up to a year in the future.
Unsupported Shopping content.
- Lastly, effective this month according to Google. They have also updated their Unsupported Shopping content policy that will include a change to how motor-powered bicycles are listed:
- “Electric bikes of a speed of 25 km/h or 15.5 mph or less are still allowed. However, product listings for these electric bikes are now required to explicitly state the bicycle’s speed on the landing page, either the product title or description. If the speed isn’t stated, the products are in violation of our policy and will be disapproved.”
Be sure to take note of the mentioned updates above, as this will heavily impact your merchant center items.
